Kitchen Tip Tuesday!

I love my hard-boiled eggs, especially deviled!
My kitchen tip this week is about boiling eggs. Make sure they aren't fresh, fresh eggs are too hard to peel. Once they are several days old they separate from the membrane much easier. The second part of this tip is from my Mom. For hard boiled eggs, once they have set up, drain the water and put the lid back on the pan and shake them up to crack the shells and loosen them. They should slip right out! See more hints by clicking on the image above.

It is a very rainy day today, and supposed to continue all week. We are expecting up to 6 inches. The ditches along the roads are already full. I spent some time after the last rain working in the front border and ended up pulling up some poison ivy. I have it on my neck, my right hip and behind my left knee, in the fold. Misery. I was wearing long pants, so I don't know how this happened. I need a shot. Okay, I am done moaning and groaning. Maybe. Till Tomorrow.

I have the hardest time boiling eggs. I try to be all precise about my technique and they are never quite right. Hubby just kinda puts the eggs in to boil and gets them out at some point and they are always perfect.
Thanks for the tip.

Poison Ivy--ugh! Hope you feel better soon!
One great tip I learned about peeling eggs is to start from the wide end. That is usually where there's an air bubble, and by peeling there you break the membrane inside.
I also hard-boil eggs that aren't right from the store. In fact, I bought my Easter eggs to color a week ago, LOL!
