Do I want to get into the Drugstore coupon mode again?

I don't know.  I have mostly enough stuff stocked up, but when they are willing to pay me to do it, I find it hard to resist.  Walgreens is a mile from my house, and I pass it on the way to almost anywhere, so it doesn't require any extra trips.  They have a rebate program where if you allow them to put it on their rebate card they give you an extra 10%.  The only things I get are free after rebate, so they are money makers.  The Register Reward program has a few Free after RR, and those are the ones I look at closely.

This week I had 7.20 left on my rebate card, and a 5RR for being an AARP card carrying member and buying $25 worth of stuff last week in one transaction ( rebate things that will actually make me money).

The 3 day Diet start was 10 w/10 RR so I paid for it first with my 5 RR and my rebate card.
Then the Lanacaine was 6 w/6 RR, the Carmex lotion was 4.99 w/4 RR and the walgreens Tampons were 1.50 w/1.50 RR.  There was also a Lipton green tea for .99 w/99 RR.

I used the 10 RR from the first transaction, the rest of my rebate card and 2.02 cash.
I received 12.49 back in RR.  So when I subtract what I started with from what I ended with, I spent 1.73 and have several items for the donation box and several for my first aid kit.

There are a few other rebate items I will be buying with the RR, then I will be done (Maybe) for this month. Walgreens is going to a card based system, like CVS, soon, so I will have to wait and see how that works out.   All in all, I think it is still fun enough for me to continue.  I didn't use any coupons in the above scenario.

End of the month shopping $35.20

I did a total of 3 transactions at Walgreens, starting with a $10 and $2 Register reward. Joint Juice is on sale for 10 w/10RR so free. The Blink eye drops are 7.99 w/8 RR and there was a $2 coupon in todays paper.  The tuna was .89 each and the jello 5/1.00 so I spent a total of $8.56 and ended up with a $10 and $8 RR- so 8.56-6 = 2.56 for all pictured, including the paper, with more coupons! 5 jello, 2- 30 ct. Joint Juice, 2-Blink Gel Tears, 3 Chunk white tuna, 1 box mixed dried fruit and the Sunday paper.  According to the receipts, I saved  $68.32

Then I went to Aldi's and bought Brocolli crowns, baby carrots, spinach, baked beans, and frozen puff pastry.  I am going to try the spinach in place of frozen and see how it works.  Lots of the  recipes I have been exploring for the last month have used puff pastry, so I am going to give it a try.
Total spent at Aldi's was $5.30.  Not bad at all.

Then I went to CVS, starting with 3 $10 ECBS.  I had two $1.25 coupons for the Dove's Men stuff, which was $5.49 and giving $5.49 ECB.  The febreeze had a B1G1 coupon and both it and the Fuze go towards the buy $25 get 10 ECB deal with the PG products this week.  I also had a 4/20 coupon.  I spent $1.49 and a 10 ECB and got a 10.98 ECB back.  I also have 9.98 towards the $25 for the PG ecb.  According to the receipt I saved 26.08 on this trip.
At Kroger I took advantage of their buy 10 get $5 off deal to work towards a $20 Nabisco rebate.
The 5 Easy Mac's are part of the rebate, and will be donated.  They and the Hunts and Rotel were part of the B10G5 deal.  I had coupons for the salad and yeast and decided to get another paper for more coupons this week.  I spent $6.46 and got a couple of Catalina coupons for future deals.  SALAD for lunch today!
My last stop was at Walmart, where I used some expiring coupons. I spent $13.41, mostly on the Sun Crystals which are Stevia based.  Matt has almost convinced me that HFCS is poison, but I still bought the Marshmellows to make ambrosia. That is what the sour cream is for also.  I am looking for more ways to incorporate beans into my diet, sloooooowly, and bought red and black beans.

In conclusion, I spent $35.20 and ended up with $6 more in RR and .98 more in ECBS and partially fulfilled a $10 ECB and $20 Rebate deal.

Walgreens and Planters Peanuts!

Great deal this week at Walgreens. They have their planters peanuts on sale 2 for $5. There is a Catalina deal where you get a $6.50 coupon if you buy 5. There are $3 coupons printables good on the peanuts when you buy 3 kraft items. There is also a monthly rebate of $5 when you buy $15 worth of selected Kraft products. So, I bought 5 peanuts, 3 jars and 2 cans, for $12.50. I then got 3 Triscuits and one Ritz Crackers, which I use with my Tuna Salad, and they were also 2 for $5. So $22.50, - 4x $3 = $10.50 + .23 tax =10.73 Out of Pocket. A coupon for $6.50 on my next purchase printed out and I will turn in the receipt for 5.50 in rebates so I am $1.26 ahead on the deal. I will take the peanuts to the reunion in a couple of weeks, because I'm not going to eat them all by myself, but the crackers will be gone by then!

Super Saving Saturday #3

Great deals earlier this week at CVS and Walgreens, but after yard sales this morning I took Karen's card to make her some money.

She had $1.50 ecb for her spring spending, and that was it. I woke up sneezing today so I wanted to work in the Alavert deal. The first store only had one ALAVERT, so I had to change my strategy.

Trip one.
Alavert 6.99 -4 coupon +4 ecbs
Biore strips 6.49 -1 coupon and part of buy $15 get 5 ecbs
Herbal essence B1G1 free $3.99 -3 coupon off two
Speed Stick 3.99 +3.99 ecbs
----------------------
21.46- 4/20 cvs coupon=17.46
-8 coupons=9.46-1.50 ecbs +tax= 9.02 out of pocket, get back $7.99 ecbs

Trip two
Alavert 6.99 -4 +4
John Frieda Dream curls 2/ 9.98 -3 coupon and 1 crt coupon Finish $15 get 5 ecbs deal
------------------------------------------
16.97 - 3/15 cvs coupon= 13.97
-8 coupons +4 ecb from above =1.97 +tax= 2.18 out of pocket and got back 4 and 5 ecbs.

So I spent the $1.50 ecb+ 9.02 + 2.18 =12.70
she ended up with 3 ecbs for 3.99, 4, and 5 for a total of $12.99 so we made .29 cents and I have three packages of Alavert!

CVS and Walgreens again

I have been making money this week, because I had some great CRT coupons and Walgreen has a special RR deal. Walgreen's Register Rewards are actually Manufacturer sponsered, just like CVS ECB's, but they have their own little quirks. This week if you buy 2 Aveeno products, you get $2 RR, 3 =$4 RR and 4=$10 RR. They also have it on sale 20% off.
I read that there were $2 coupons in a book of beauty coupons at K-Mart, which is next to my CVS in W.F., so I grabbed a handful of the booklets. The small Aveeno tube was $2.63 on sale, making a total of $10.52 -8.00 in coupons = $2.52, but generating $10 RR. I have done this 3 times this week. The tax was .82 for a total of 3.34 X 3= $10.02 but I now have $30 in RR. The quirk in RR is that I can use them to buy more Aveeno, but if I do, another one will not be generated. If I use them to buy something from another manufacturing company, that is also generating RR, it will work. I can use them on something that is in their rebate book, or just spend them like cash, but once you get started, you just want to roll them over!

I got a new $25 gift card for CVS from MY POINTS and thought we should keep track of how far it goes this time. I had bought the above Alavert before the card came, so it won't count, but I have to tell you about it. There were $4 printable coupons available on the internet, and I had a $2 CRT from CVS. They are on sale this week for $6.99, and are generating $4 ECBS. Oh yeah. So I paid 1.05 and got back $4. -----$2.95 profit plus the Walgreens profit above puts my total at $22.93 profit so far.

I had a $5 duracell CRT, and a $2 Dove CRT. I still had a $4 coupon on the Alavert. Before this first deal on my new card, I had 2, 4, and 3.99 ECBs. The duracell had a peel-off .50 coupon. I had $1.50 coupon on the dove, and I had purchased some earlier so only needed 7.01 for a 5 ECB. (buy 15, get 5)

alavert 6.99-4 +4 ECB

Dove 7.99-2 +5 ECB

Duracell 4.79-5.50

19.77 plus tax put me over $20. I used my 4 off of $20 coupon, the 4 alavert coupon, $7 crts and 2.50 other coupons. I handed over my 2 ecb and paid .84 on my card. I now have a balance of $24.16. I also got 9 in ecbs. 9-2 ecbs and .84 means I made a profit here of $6.16. So the total profit so far this week is $29.09 and it is only Tuesday! My ECBs are now up to 16.99 from 9.99, but that is included in the $29.09 profit.

I want to emphasize this, because that is money that can then be spent on those items that rarely get coupons, like meats and milk. You can say, I never use those things so why would I buy them, but they generate cash like usable income to cover things you do use. Yes, it is work and if you don't enjoy doing it or get a kick out of it, then it probably doesn't have a big enough payoff for you. But if you are like me, it is a game with a little profit built in!
